The Gaza Strip is living in extremely difficult health and economic conditions in light of the rising poverty and unemployment and the Israeli siege imposed on Gaza for nearly eight years. Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognizes the right to health. ” Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care”. Health services in the Gaza Strip suffer from lack of support, which increases the cost of treatment in light of the high prices of medicines, and conducting medical examinations and x-rays, as well as the high prices of conducting surgical procedures. Therefore, the project is trying to help the poor and needy patients in covering the costs of treatment for a number of poor patients whose difficult physical conditions are considered an obstacle to their treatment.
